In her remarkable book Letter to My Daughter, Maya Angelou reminds us that love transcends biology, borders, and expectations. Although she had only one son, she wrote to the collective “daughters” of the worldâthose in search of guidance, strength, and affirmation. That sentiment resonates deeply with me.
As a values-based, intentional life coach and yoga teacher, I find myself holding space for many women and men navigating challenges, growth, and transformation. Like Maya, I believe we are all part of a greater family of humanity. When we pause to nurture each other with love, grace, and kindnessâwe begin to heal together.
đ¸ A Letter I Could Have Written
Reading Mayaâs words felt like looking in a mirror. Not because I share her eloquence (though I aspire to!), but because I, too, feel called to offer guidance and love unconditionally. While I am the proud mother of both a remarkable daughter and son, my heart has expanded far beyond biology.
Over time, my journey has been shaped by the absence of traditional parental support. Yet, that absence revealed something powerful: Iâve been surrounded, lifted, and inspired by countless extraordinary women whoâve become mentors, guides, and mirrors. Iâve learned through their examples what it means to lead with courage, to hold space with compassion, and to love without condition.
đ§ââď¸ Guiding Through Grace and Grounding
Whether on the yoga mat or in a coaching session, I invite people to turn inwardâbecause thatâs where our values reside. Thatâs where the knowing lives. Thatâs where you remember who you are, who youâve always been. Mayaâs spirit reminds me to lead with kindness, to offer grace, and to model the very values I teach: compassion, courage, resilience, and unconditional love.
đ Community as Family
I see youâthe woman questioning her next step, the man trying to find his voice, the person seeking peace or direction. You donât need to have it all figured out to be worthy of love and belonging. As Maya knew, and as I continue to witness, love grows when it is shared freely, without condition or control.
đˇ A Mother’s Day Reflection
On this Motherâs Day, I honor the many âmothersâ I’ve had along the wayâwomen whose presence, wisdom, and strength have deeply impacted my life. Some are friends, some are elders, some Iâve only known brieflyâbut each has helped shape the woman I am today. If you, too, have created your own circle of maternal love and guidance, know that it is sacred. You are not alone.
⨠My Offer to You
This blog is, in a way, my own letter to all of youâmy daughters, sons, friends, and fellow humans on this journey. Iâm here to support you through the hard stuff, celebrate the joy, and remind you of your brilliance when you forget. You are not alone, and you are not too much or not enough. You are loved, and you are becoming.
𫶠Letâs Grow Together
If this speaks to youâif you feel seen in these wordsâletâs connect. My coaching is here to walk beside you as you uncover, remember, and embody your truest self. Whether on the mat or in your daily life, Iâll be cheering you on every step of the way!
