The Winter Solstice arrived quietly this week; the shortest day, the longest night.
A gentle reminder from nature that rest is not only allowed, it’s necessary. 🌙
From here, the light begins its slow return.
No rushing.
No forcing.
Just a steady, patient shift.
Maybe that’s why I’ve been feeling a little lighter lately…
a little more playful. 💫
With school wrapping up, a short vacation, and fewer distractions pulling at me, I’ve had space to notice things again.
The small things.
The favorite things.
The ones that don’t make a to-do list and yet somehow make life feel richer.
🌟 A Few of My Favorite Things
You know may the song: “these are a few of my favorite things…”
This time of year, everyone seems to be making lists.
So here’s mine. It’s not curated or polished, just honest:
✨ Morning light filtering through the window
✨ Warm mugs held with both hands
✨ Crisp air filling steady breaths
✨ Quiet walks that settle the mind
✨ Music that feels like an old friend
✨ Laughter that surprises you
Nothing extravagant.
Everything meaningful.
🌿 Where Intention Actually Lives
So often we think growth, healing, or alignment has to look big:
✔️ Bold goals
✔️ Perfect plans
✔️ Major breakthroughs
What I see again and again in my own life and in my coaching work, is this:
Presence lives in the small things we choose to notice.
The Solstice doesn’t demand the light return, it allows it.
And in the same way, we don’t realign our lives by doing more…
we realign by paying attention. 🧘♀️
Ask yourself:
- What feels nourishing right now?
- What feels heavy or unnecessary?
- What might shift if I paused instead of pushed?
🔥 An Invitation for This Season
This season doesn’t need more hustle.
It needs permission to soften.
Perhaps instead of resolutions, we make space.
Instead of fixing, we notice.
Instead of striving, we appreciate. 💛
Your list of favorite things might already be whispering:
- what grounds you
- what brings you peace
- what deserves more room in your life
That’s intentional living.
As the light slowly returns, my wish for you is simple:
✨ May you notice what warms you
✨ May you rest without guilt
✨ May you carry forward only what truly matters
And may you remember —
your favorite things are often quietly pointing you exactly where you need to go. 🤍
